Trip to the ER

Today started out fairly normal....then the call came, a close aunt was rushed to the ER because of a fall from out of her wheelchair. She has a deep cut on her forehead and other cuts and bruises. So off I go. She lives in an assisted living home about 30 miles from us and since she has no children and our uncle (her husband) has passed on and she is 92 years old, my husband and I take responsiblity for her. She is a sweetheart and is always pleasant. In fact the whole time I was with her in the ER waiting for them to stitch her up, she never complained. She ended up with about 10 stitched to the forehead.

She has led a remarkable life. In about 1943 she was a U.S. Naval Reserves WAVES and served during WWII. She also worked for the ATF division of the US Treasury Dept. She has always been a very industrious person and a gracious southern lady. Here is a pic of her from her Navy days.

We made it back to the Assisted living home and she quietly told me she was going to take a nap.

Veggies Yum!

The vegetables are really starting to come in from the garden.

So have to get busy cooking and freezing.

Here I've mad some stuffed zucchini and they were soooo good.

I have been attached by allergies this week, so it has been slow moving.

But getting better now and getting busy again....

So much to do....

Country Bumpkin & Inspirations - beautiful embroidery & smocking

Love their designs and inspirations for sewing!

From Easter

Madeleine loves to twirl!

This is Maddie in her Easter dress from this year.

A white bishop with ecru smocking.
I loved making it for her.

She loves to dance and sing.

She is two and a half in this picture, but at the age

of one year and three months, she was

diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

She has had some ups and downs, but over all

she is a very active little girl.

We praise God for all His blessings.

More on our grandsons later!

his love endures forever."

For starters...

Ok this is my first post and I am new at this, so please be patient.
I have so much to share, just where to get started?
Since it is midnight at my house, this will be a brief post.
I am retired, home with my DH. We live on about two acres, in which he does
most of the work.
I pretty much work inside, sewing, knitting, quilting and keeping up with
the most precious grandchildren.
So that is enough to get started....more to come.
I hope that I can keep this up.
